EVALUATING
THE TEACHER OF MUSIC HAS SKILLS IN EVALUATING MUSIC AND MUSIC PERFORMANCES

PERFORMANCE
REFLECTION
This is one of the most important tools that we can use. Many times teachers will just share comments of what judges might have said about them, and ask the students to share aloud how the felt the performance went. When you are able to give students a pen and paper to write down and collect their thoughts, you are letting them think more creatively, and express things they might not have said aloud. There are many different ways you can do this. You can find or make a copy of a judges form and have each student fill one out using proper terms, and constructive criticism. You can also have your students write in a journal, and have them express how they felt the concert/solo work went.
